There is a US SAILING regulation about alcohol at youth events. However,
the beer tent/cocktail party has been used very effectively at past
events -- to entertain parents so that the kids can be with their
friends. I think it's a great idea so long as you use common sense. A
beer sponsor might be taking it a step too far.

An idea from Chuck: have a cash bar for the kids that would serve only soft drinks and perhaps some fancy kids drinks.

We definitely plan to do that. The food committee has that, so anyone how would like to volunteer, please contact lisa butler. We have LOTS of volunteer opportunities, so we want to make sure we keep it organzied. Also, FYI, the site plan has it on opposite ends from teh beer tent.
