Food Committee
A few thoughts on food. In discussion with some of you, it seems that we are leaning toward the multi vendor approach for both lunch and dinner during the event (excluding the box lunches for the sailors). My thought on that is to put out a "call to vendors" and to charge a rental charge for the 3 days for the opportunity to be there. I think this may be easier than trying to do a % of revenue. Please provide your thoughts. Also, who would like to be on the food committee???

Please add your ideas for special awards
I am soliciting all of you brainstorming sailors for "special" awards ideas. We are already committed to "Top Girl" in each class.
US Sailing has suggested ideas such as "Marco Polo"(the sailor that travelled farthest), "Best Recovery"(which would require keen eyes from our on-the-water volunteers), and "Sportsmanship" (which could be controversial, unless clearly demonstrated.) One possibility was offered at the meeting regarding best boat maintenance, or sharpest looking boat (which could be done by the land volunteers.) The importance of the special awards is to spread out the winnings- they should not necessarily be performance related. I'd especially like to hear from the on-the-water volunteers because only you know what you are willing to commit to.
Please use comments here to submit ideas. I'd like to collect as many as possible- remember there are no bad ideas in brainstorming!!

Fun Committee idea
I was brainstorming today and wanted some thoughts from fellow volunteers. What does everyone think about maybe having fireworks for Friday night since it's around July 4th??? I can work on getting prices, but I needed the go ahead. Does anyone know of pyro companies?
