I left a message for Bill Cushwa at 302-981-6769 at Jakes Burger's. I know that Connie is contacting the Pulled Pork Caterer that did an event at the club previously. I'll keep you posted what I learn. But either option sound yummy!!!
ReplyDeleteDawn's idea about Jake's Burgers (Mobile Jakes, Bill Cushwa at 302-981-6769) may be best for the spectators that stay on-land on Sat & Sun lunch times. Having a stand or two with food for Lunch puchase could be 1. really nice to offer variety to families, 2. take the burden off the RHYC kitchen. but we'll have to check with Dan on that, and 3. earn us some money for stand rental.
ReplyDeleteCathy Jayne also said her father who's part of Rock Hall Lions Club would also to do this with the - they serve simple lunches - hots dogs & fixings.
A little more info on Dinner Sat. The thought here is that Jimmy Smith or another pulled-pork type vendor would provide a no-hassle, excellent main course. Dan & Co will be busy enough making everything else work for the weekend, lunches, breakfast, snacks, toilet paper, constant turnover & cleanup, and on and on. We need good food, no under or overspending, that guy comes in, sets up, serves, cleans up and leaves - VIOLA! The RHYC staff would be asked to provide sides and support. This vendor was used during one of our major regattas in 2008 and results were superb - lots of happy, fed sailors & families, profit margin, and RHYC staff liked it too.
ReplyDeleteI am working on getting a quote for this.
